The Chronic Kidney Disease Prognosis Consortium (CKD-PC) was established in 2009 by Kidney Disease: Improving Global Outcomes (KDIGO) (sponsored by the U.S. National Kidney Foundation) to focus on improving the lives of patients with CKD. The CKD-PC now includes data on >30 million participants from >120 cohorts spanning >40 countries, and has provided evidence for a global definition of CKD, the acceptance of new surrogate endpoints in clinical trials, and the establishment of important risk tools for use in clinical care. In this renewal, the CKD-PC will build upon previous successes and continue to respond rapidly to changes in health care guidelines, delivery, and regulation to answer high priority questions facing the global CKD population.
To date, the CKD-PC has published over 35 high impact papers with important implications for the definition, staging, and management of CKD.
